About us

Western Tanganyika College (WTC) of Business Management, Health, and Allied Sciences is the first privately owned institution established in the Kigoma region. Located in Kigoma Ujiji Municipality, the College is positioned on the northeastern shore of Lake Tanganyika—the world's second-deepest lake—within Western Tanzania. WTC is also the western terminus of the Central Railway Line, approximately 1,200 km from Dar es Salaam. The municipality shares a western border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and is surrounded by Kigoma District Council to the south, east, and north. Officially established in 2009 and registered in 2008 under the Companies Act (CAP. 212 R.E of 2002) as an educational institution, WTC operates under the governance of its Board of Directors.

--> The College is recognized by the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children and is fully registered and accredited by the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) under registration number REG/BMG/032. Additionally, WTC is registered by the Pharmacy Council of Tanzania and the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (registration number TPRS/051).
